About Ron Davis

Ron was born in 1942 and labeled what we would now call autistic. He had no speech at 12, his IQ was 137 at 17, but off the scale by his mid-20s. He was still functionally illiterate until age 38. He lived on a knife edge, away from the truth being discovered. He completed technical courses, became a successful engineer, artist and businessman.

Having realized the cause of his difficulties, and correcting it, he went on to establish the Reading Research Council's Dyslexia Correction Centre in 1982. 'The Gift of Dyslexia' has been published in most major languages throughout the world and he now spends most of his time delivering training workshops to teachers, therapists and counselors. His second book 'The Gift of Learning' was published in 2003. He continues to research the application of his techniques to conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism and petit mal Epilepsy.
