Davis Dyslexia Correction® alumni, Angus Johnson, competed in the Destination Imagination Provincial Tournament

One of our Davis Dyslexia Correction alumni, Angus Johnson, competed in the Destination Imagination Provincial Tournament here in West Vancouver on April 8th. Angus and his teammates placed first in their division, with their crazy ping-pong ball launcher, which shot then returned balls faster than you could say "I do DI is a palindrome."

Destination Imagination, or DI, is a volunteer-run program in which teams of up to seven kids choose a challenge to solve, write, and perform a skit around it. It's kind of like 'science fair meets instant improv'. All ideas, props, and costumes are made completely by the team, with no adult help. Teams form at the beginning of the school year, with regional tournaments starting in February.

Angus' team, called The SnowDolphins Who Prefer Ham, are on their way to Knoxville, Tennessee at the end of May to compete in the Global Finals. They will be representing not only Vancouver but Western Canada as well. We wish them the best of luck at the tournament! If you would like more information about DI, please visit www.bcdi.org or www.idodi.org.
